Typography

What was the Project?

The project was to type our name into Adobe illustrator using a serif typeface. Our next step was to label the different parts of the typeface that we saw in our name as well as label the baseline, x-height, and caps height. We were then told to use arrows to point at the part we were labeling.

What did you learn about typography?

I learned that serif fonts have serifs, or the little thingy on the end, and sans-serif fonts do not. The baseline is where all the letters "sit on", the x-height is where all the lowercase letters rise to, and the Caps height is where the capitol letters rise to.  I also learned that there is a lot of different parts and pieces in different fonts and typefaces that make each one unique and different.
